Counselor

Every counselor will: Be a mature person who is able to work well with a group of children, including group control and stimulation/encouragement. Be a caring, mature role model, placing children’s needs above personal needs while at Alley Pond. Instill in children a respect for themselves, others, and the academy. Specific Responsibilities Assist Coaches in all areas of the camp. Assist in leading your group of campers. Assist Specialist with activities including maintaining control. Assist in implementing a well-balanced program for the group when not assigned to a Specialist or other activities that relate to the group. Attend all camp activities including orientations, meetings, trips, and staff outings. Maintain good attendance and punctuality. Arrive each morning no later than 8:45 a.m. (unless assigned to early care) and stay until dismissed by the coaches. Follow Commonpoint rules: No smoking while at Alley Pond is in session. No drugs or alcoholic beverages permitted in the camp. Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the camp program at all times. Maintain confidentiality regarding personal issues surrounding all staff and players. Show initiative. Ensure a fun and safe summer for all campers. The counselor must go into the water for swim time. No cell phones allowed. No smartwatches allowed. Job duties are subject to change based on changing needs.
