Travel Nursing Job Details

Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in New York
• At least 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery or maternity nursing experience
• Strong knowledge of labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn-care workflows
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and every other weekend
• Current BLS certification and any additional credentials required for maternity nursing practice
• Willingness to assist on a medical-surgical unit when appropriate and within scope of practice
• Strong communication, clinical judgment, organization, and commitment to patient-centered care

Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients throughout the labor and delivery process
• Monitor maternal and fetal status, recognize changes in condition, and communicate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments, complete nursing assessments, and document care accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, anesthesia professionals, newborn-care staff, and the broader healthcare team
• Educate and support patients and families before, during, and after delivery
• Respond effectively to urgent and emergent clinical situations in accordance with policy and scope of practice
• Provide helping hands on the medical-surgical unit when needed and appropriate
