About the Position

Job Title: Echo Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Echo Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; weekend call required, 1 on 4 off, Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Registered Cardiac Sonographer preferred Certifications: Registry required within 1 year of employment Must-Have: Proficiency in all imaging modalities of Adult Echocardiography including Transthoracic Echo, Stress Echo, and Transesophageal Echo (TEE). Description: Seeking a full-time Echo Sonographer to assist in the Cardiology team. The Echo Technologist works with the practice team to assist in the delivery of direct and indirect patient care in the hospital or office setting. Supervision and direction will be provided by Practice Providers, Cardiology Director, and Lead Echo Technologist. Key responsibilities include preparing patients and diagnostic equipment for imaging procedures. The Echo Technologist will explain procedures to patients and answer any questions they may have. Obtaining high-quality imaging is essential. Assist physicians in interpreting the data from the images and ensure proper record keeping. Care should be provided following hospital and practice standards. Essential Duties include: Providing care according to established protocols and procedures. Demonstrating clinical competence in all modalities within echocardiography to provide accurate diagnostic information. Delivering patient and caregiver education while acting as a patient advocate in the delivery and coordination of patient care. Providing age-specific, individualized care that supports protection from harm and addresses the needs of the family unit. Maintaining knowledge and competency in echocardiography as set forth by credentialing organizations. Delivering excellent customer service as a member of the care team. Demonstrating competence regarding equipment and technology system performance, patient monitoring, and archiving of studies. Organizing exam rooms, setting up for procedures, and maintaining cleaning and office upkeep. Assisting with quality monitoring and inventory of equipment and supplies. Organizing and multitasking in a fast-paced environment to support timely patient care. Collaborating with other health care providers regarding practice and patient needs. Performing other duties as assigned. Maintaining competency in Basic Life Support (BLS) and ensuring compliance with infection control and safety standards is required. Demonstrating willingness to learn and adapt in a constantly changing healthcare environment is essential.
