Pay or shift range: $25 USD to $32.08 USD. The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Description Collector (Hospital Billing & Collections) Valley Presbyterian Hospital Drive Revenue Integrity & Resolution At Valley Presbyterian Hospital, our revenue cycle team plays a critical role in keeping operations running. We’re looking for a detail‑oriented Collector to manage patient accounts from billing through resolution while ensuring timely follow‑up, accurate reimbursement, and strong payer relationships. What You’ll Do Manage assigned accounts from billing through final resolution or agency referral Follow up on claims and ensure timely payment collection Review accounts for outstanding balances, credits, and discrepancies Process contractual adjustments and write‑offs in accordance with guidelines Submit claims documentation including appeals, rebills, EOBs, and medical records Communicate with payers, patients, and internal teams to resolve payment issues Interpret payer contracts, LOAs, and billing requirements Maintain accurate documentation and account notes Identify and escalate denial trends, billing issues, and workflow gaps Participate in payer calls, team meetings, and process improvement efforts What You Bring 1+ year hospital collections experience (Commercial, Managed Care, Medicare, Medi‑Cal, or Workers’ Comp) Strong understanding of UB04 billing and medical claims processes Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD‑10 codes, and revenue cycle workflows Experience interpreting payer contracts and processing adjustments Proficiency in Excel and working with spreadsheets Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple accounts and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Ability to obtain LA City Fire Card within 30 days Why VPH Mission‑driven healthcare organization High‑impact role within revenue cycle operations Collaborative and team‑oriented environment Opportunity to build expertise across multiple payer types Apply today to help drive accurate reimbursement and financial performance at VPH.
