Controller

We are on the hunt for a dynamic and experienced Permanent Controller to join our Accounting + Finance team. This role is perfect for an analytical thinker with a deep understanding of GAAP and accounting who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year Responsibilities Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements. Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate all audit activities. Manage cash flow and forecasting. Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs. Optimize the handling of banking relationships and initiate appropriate strategies to enhance cash positions. Oversee budgeting and the implementation of budgets so as to monitor progress and present financial metrics both internally and externally. Ensure that finance staff maintains financial record systems in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and monitor the use of all funds. Oversee the production of monthly reports including reconciliations as well as financial statements and cash flow projections for use by Executive management. Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. CPA or MBA preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management practices. Experience in a senior financial management role, partnering with executive staff, resulting in the development and implementation of creative financial management strategies. Significant experience in or knowledge of nonprofit accounting, including sophisticated fund and grant accounting, compliance, and reporting. Deep knowledge and understanding of the GAAP. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board or other outside partners. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills. Experience with accounting software, QuickBooks preferred. Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects. Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model.
