Salary: $60,000 to $195,000

(The Used Car Buyer Position has a Pay Scale consisting of the following elements and ranges.  Wages include Monthly draw of $2000.  The position may also pay commission compensation which is based on the value or amount of closed sales achieved from $0.00 (if no sales are made) without any upper limit other than sales performance.  The position also may also pay a production bonus based on individual or team performance that may range from $0.00 (if baseline benchmarks are not met) without any fixed upper limit)

Job Description

Summary:

The  Used Car Buyer  will have a primary responsibility of executing a process which involves prospecting, appraising, and presenting offers to current vehicle owners with the goal of purchasing their vehicles from multiple sources for resale.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for calling, following up and scheduling appointments for customers to come in and appraise and purchase their used vehicles.
• Utilize CRM for prospecting and lead generation.
• Interface with current used vehicle owners from appointments set and dealership service drive with the purpose of purchasing their vehicle.
• Approach, greet, and engage with dealership customers to appraise and offer to purchase their current vehicles.
• Appraise used vehicles by asking questions, taking pictures of the vehicles, and inputting vehicle data into Sonic's automated inventory management system.
• Work with Sales Managers to build and propose an offer to seller.
• Introduces guest to sales department personnel to sell them a new vehicle after purchase of their existing vehicle.
• Review monthly goals with management on vehicles purchased to better utilize time and plans more effectively.

Qualifications

Preferred:

• At least 2+ years working in a Used Car department in a dealership or Used Buyer experience within a dealership.
• Demonstrated success in telemarketing, appointment setting, or sales roles, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
• Strong ability to engage with customers effectively, build rapport, and address their needs and concerns professionally.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with a persuasive and articulate demeanor over the phone.
• Ability to handle rejection positively and persistently pursue leads, maintaining a positive attitude throughout.
• Comfortable using CRM software, productivity tools, and other technology platforms to manage leads and track progress.
• Honda/Acura brand experience a plus.
• Professional personal appearance.
• Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette.
• Ability to meet company’s production and quality standards.

Required:

• All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA.

• Valid driver's license and good driving record.

• All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid driver license.

Additional Information

Compensation:

• $60,000 to $195,000 
• Draw plus commission
• Meeting and exceeding sales and company goals

Schedule:

• FULL TIME
• Monday through Saturday availability
• Sundays off
