This role is at the center of our HR team and plays a key part in supporting employees throughout their journey with Lanter—from onboarding and benefits administration to leave management, compliance, HR systems, and day-to-day employee support. What You'll Be Doing No two days are exactly the same, but your responsibilities will include: Serve as a resource to employees and supervisors regarding company policies, handbook interpretation, benefits, leave administration, onboarding, employment documentation, and general HR processes Supporting employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, new hire orientation, employment documentation, and Form I-9 compliance Administering benefits processes, including enrollments, qualifying life events, status changes, terminations, and open enrollment support Coordinating leave administration, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, personal leaves of absence, workers' compensation coordination, and applicable state leave requirements Assisting with workers' compensation claims and partnering with employees, supervisors, carriers, and vendors throughout the process Maintaining employee records, HR documentation, and HRIS data while supporting audits, reporting, and compliance efforts Providing payroll backup support and assisting with employee data validation and payroll-related documentation Managing HR-related invoices and supporting timely processing and approvals Monitoring HR inboxes and responding to employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner Supporting LMS administration, training compliance, and HR-related reporting Maintaining HR policies, procedures, forms, handbook materials, and compliance documentation Identifying opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance the employee experience Partnering with leaders and cross-functional teams on HR initiatives, employee engagement activities, and special projects Staying current on HR best practices, employment law updates, and industry trends Why You'll Love This Role You'll play a hands‑on role across nearly every area of HR, including benefits, leave administration, compliance, employee support, payroll backup, HR systems, and onboarding. What We're Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered 3+ years of HR or HR operations experience preferred Working knowledge of HR administration, employee records, benefits, leave administration, onboarding, I-9 compliance, workers' compensation coordination, HR systems, payroll support, and employment compliance requirements Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements with consistency and sound judgment Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and process improvement skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, reporting tools, and related HR technology Experience supporting multi‑location or distributed teams preferred PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification preferred Travel: This position may require up to 5% travel. This job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, copiers, phones, and other job‑related tools or systems. The team member may be required to sit for extended periods of time while working at a computer and communicating with internal and external business partners.
