Job Summary:
Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (MS RN) Nights Newburgh, IN. This position involves providing compassionate, evidence-based care within a 32-bed unit that handles a diverse patient population including chest pain, abdominal pain, CVA/TIA, and general weakness. The RN will be responsible for performing assessments, administering medications, and utilizing critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes during the night shift.

Job Details:

• Shift & Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Current active compact license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification, associate degree or certificate, two years of strong Medical-Surgical (MS) experience, including trauma level II, recent EPIC charting experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Strong assessment and critical thinking skills, experience with PIV insertion, stable drips (heparin, Lasix, Protonix), excellent team collaboration, social candidates.
• Float Requirements: First to float within skillset; possible float to nearby campuses with a 2-hour notice, within same campus during mid-shift.
• On Call/Call Back: Not required.
• Weekend/Holiday Schedule: Three weekends out of every six weeks, alternating holiday work on every other holiday.
• Additional Information: The position may require precepting of students and new-hire orientation. Mid-shift float and cross-campus float within designated facilities are possible with notice. Covid-19 vaccination is subject to change; GSA hours during orientation week are not guaranteed.
