Software Engineer - Data Platforms

Salary: $128,000 - 168,000 per year Requirements:

• We want someone with 8+ years of experience in software engineering, systems development, and large-scale technical design.
• We look for proven experience designing and supporting enterprise-scale data platforms in both on-premises and cloud environments.
• We need deep expertise in SQL Server and database engineering, including performance tuning, reliability, and troubleshooting long-running or blocking workloads.
• We value strong knowledge of enterprise data ingestion patterns using SQL, APIs, and AWS-based platforms, with an understanding of downstream analytics and warehouse effects.
• We require experience with modern data ingestion and transformation tools such as CData, dbt, or similar, with an emphasis on production ownership and maintainability.
• We expect working knowledge of SQL Server replication technologies, including Microsoft Replication and Change Data Capture (CDC).
• We look for strong capabilities in process modeling, data modeling, database design, and technical specification development.
• We need excellent communication, organization, and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• We require a bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• We value hands-on experience with containerization in support of data engineering or AI/ML workloads.
• We look for exposure to cloud-native architectures that support scalable, dependable data pipelines.
• We require experience with project planning, technical roadmapping, and deployment strategies.

• We will have you serve as the technical authority for platform-level systems, owning architecture, data flows, and technical standards across products.
• We will have you design, build, and maintain resilient technical processes across multiple technologies, programming languages, and database structures.
• We will have you partner with Enterprise Architects to align architecture standards, technical solutions, and business outcomes.
• We will have you lead technical design reviews and make informed trade-off decisions that balance speed, performance, reliability, data integrity, and maintainability.
• We will have you provide technical oversight for a portfolio of products and services, helping prioritize work across delivery commitments, production support, technical debt, and platform modernization.
• We will have you influence where engineering effort is directed to maximize organizational value.
• We will have you own production readiness, system reliability, and incident prevention across portfolio systems.
• We will have you define and enforce standards for monitoring, alerting, resiliency patterns, runbooks, and post-incident reviews.
• We will have you drive ongoing improvements in platform stability, observability, and operational maturity.
• We will have you plan, architect, and lead large-scale technical initiatives, upgrades, and implementations.
• We will have you collaborate with business leaders, product teams, and engineering managers to align technical delivery with business priorities.
• We will have you introduce and assess modern tools and emerging technologies that strengthen platform capability and sustainability.
• We will have you act as a technical lead and mentor to Software Engineers I-III through coaching, design guidance, code reviews, and pair programming.
• We will have you support team development by promoting best practices across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
