This opportunity offers a behind-the-scenes look at the role of a Public Information Officer (PIO) and the strategies involved in public health communication. Students Will: Observe public health communication in action by attending a McLean County PIO meeting, viewing emergency response coordination, and participating in media preparation and interviews Learn the differences between proactive and reactive communication, while gaining insight into how media professionals in radio, print, and TV operate Receive feedback on Associated Press (AP) writing style and build both oral and written communication skills Please submit a sample of original writing in the form of a press release or media post (social media, newspaper article, etc.) on a public health topic/story of your choice. #J-18808-Ljbffr
