Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to support engineering and manufacturing projects at a leading San Antonio facility. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, with particular expertise in line balancing, process setup, manufacturing layouts, tooling and equipment installation, and process improvement.

Candidates with experience in the automotive or truck manufacturing industry are highly preferred. Experience with Standard Pro software is a significant advantage.

This position requires strong AutoCAD 2D and 3D skills and the ability to translate engineering concepts, sketches, and specifications into accurate technical drawings and manufacturing layouts.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and update 2D and 3D manufacturing layouts using AutoCAD.

• Support manufacturing engineering projects from concept through implementation.

• Perform line balancing, process mapping, process setup, and standard work development.

• Support PFMEA activities and manufacturing process improvements.

• Analyze engineering sketches, specifications, and design requirements to create detailed technical drawings.

• Develop layouts for production areas, tooling, equipment, workstations, and manufacturing processes.

• Support the installation and implementation of manufacturing tooling and equipment.

• Assist with prototype and pilot build activities.

• Perform physical measurements and site assessments to develop accurate layouts.

• Coordinate project reviews with engineering, manufacturing, operations, and other departments.

• Prepare and maintain project/problem follow-up sheets to monitor activities and completion.

• Place and follow up on purchase orders related to tooling and manufacturing equipment.

• Review drawings and layouts for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering and industry standards.

• Collaborate with engineers and other professionals to clarify design specifications.

• Prepare analysis, reports, and executive presentations using Microsoft Office.

• Manage multiple engineering projects while meeting deadlines and project deliverables.

• Provide engineering support for continuous improvement and manufacturing operations.

• Work overtime and/or weekends when required to meet project deadlines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field is strongly preferred.

• Minimum 3 years of engineering/manufacturing experience.

• Strong experience working in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong experience with line balancing and process setup.

• Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes and production environments.

• Strong AutoCAD 2D and 3D experience.

• Experience developing manufacturing layouts and technical drawings.

• Experience with manufacturing tooling and equipment installation.

• Knowledge of PFMEA, process mapping, standard work, and manufacturing processes.

• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and design documentation.

• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work effectively with engineers, manufacturing teams, and other stakeholders.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.

• Ability to work onsite in San Antonio, Texas.

• Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends based on project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in automotive or truck manufacturing.

• Experience with Standard Pro software.

• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.

• Experience supporting prototype, pilot build, or new production launch projects.

• Experience with manufacturing equipment and tooling procurement.
