This position is 100% remote, allowing you to provide essential mental health support from the comfort of your own home while making a significant impact in the lives of elderly individuals. The regular workweek runs from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern Time, providing structured hours for consistency and predictability.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, identifying their specific needs and developing individualized treatment plans. \n
- Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions that address the emotional and psychological challenges faced by clients related to aging and life transitions. \n
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians and social workers, to create integrated care plans that enhance the overall well-being of geriatric clients. \n
- Provide educational support to family members and caregivers on best practices for improving the emotional health of seniors. \n
- Offer specialized grief and loss counseling to clients and their families coping with end-of-life issues, ensuring sensitive and compassionate support during difficult times. \n
- Design and implement cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions to foster mental agility among elderly individuals. \n
- Actively document client progress and treatment interventions using our electronic health record system to maintain compliance and quality assurance in our services. \n
This position will primarily focus on elderly clients aged 65 and above, many of whom are experiencing complex emotional and psychological challenges related to aging. Clients may face issues such as bereavement, chronic illness, cognitive decline, and significant life transitions like moving to assisted living or losing a spouse. Your empathetic approach and expertise will be vital in helping them cope with these challenges effectively.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution. \n
- A valid License as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts. \n
- Minimum of 4 years of recent experience providing counseling services to geriatric populations. \n
- Ongoing professional development or specialization in geriatric mental health and challenges related to aging. \n
- Knowledge of evidence-based interventions that promote mental wellness in elderly clients. \n
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and their families. \n
