Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing conveyor systems and performing general facility maintenance across distribution facilities. You will support preventive maintenance activities on conveyor systems, carry out belt repairs and adjustments, and assist with basic welding tasks when needed. In addition, you will handle a variety of building maintenance duties such as drywall repair, light fixture replacement, and painting to ensure facilities remain safe, functional, and efficient.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) on conveyor systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
• Inspect, repair, and replace conveyor belts, including belt repair, thatching belts, and adjusting belt tension as needed.
• Replace and adjust pulleys and other mechanical components on conveyor systems.
• Assist with wire feed welding tasks when prior welding experience is available.
• Carry out basic facility repair work, including drywall repair, patching, and finishing.
• Replace and maintain light fixtures and related electrical components within facilities, following safety guidelines.
• Perform painting and touch-up work to maintain a clean and professional facility appearance.
• Operate a forklift to move or adjust products and materials safely within the facility as needed.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures and other safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment during maintenance and repair activities.
• Review and complete work orders accurately, documenting work performed and reporting any issues or follow-up needs.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with conveyor maintenance and repair, including belts, pulleys, and mechanical components.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance tasks on conveyor systems in a distribution or industrial environment.
• Practical skills in general building and facilities maintenance, including drywall repair, light fixture changes, and painting.
• Experience operating a forklift safely to move or adjust products and materials.
• Knowledge and consistent use of lockout/tagout safety procedures during maintenance and repair work.
• Basic mechanical aptitude with the ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Basic welding knowledge, particularly wire feed welding, is preferred but not required.
• Comfort working in distribution and industrial facility environments with conveyor systems.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and maintenance instructions with attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to safety, including adherence to all site-specific safety policies and procedures.
• Reliable transportation and ability to service multiple locations within the assigned region.
• Good communication skills to interact with team members and facility personnel.

Work Environment

You start your day at an office in the Kent area, where you receive work orders and plan your route. From there, you travel in a company-provided van to service distribution facilities primarily in the Kent and Auburn area, with coverage extending between Seattle and surrounding locations. The role is field-based and hands-on, working in active warehouse and distribution environments with conveyor systems, material handling equipment, and standard maintenance tools. You can expect a mix of mechanical work on conveyors and general building maintenance tasks in indoor industrial settings, with a focus on safety procedures and efficient completion of assigned work.

This is a Permanent position based out of Kent, WA.

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $74880.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
