Job Summary

Provide emergency care to patients requiring EMS procedures in accordance with established medical protocols under the direct supervision of the Paramedic. Ensure assigned emergency vehicles and equipment are in an acceptable state of readiness at all times. Provide safe and effective transportation of patients to and from predetermined locations. Exemplify excellent service behavior and timely responsiveness to co-workers, patients, clients, visitors, physicians and vendors. Responsibilities:

• Ensureassigned emergencyvehicles andequipment areinanacceptable stateofreadiness atalltimes.

• Provide safeand effective transportationof patients to and from predeterminedlocations.

• Exemplify excellent service behavior and timely responsivenessto co-workers, patients, clients,visitors, physicians and vendors.

• Maintainknowledge ofallClinicalCare Guidelines, StandardOperatingProcedures andPoliciesandProcedures ofGrady EMS (GEMS) and Grady Health System.

• Ensures asateamthat alldrugs,IVfluids andsuppliesareproperlyinventoriedandmaintained.

• Otherduties asassigned.

• Ensures thatallequipment andsupplies areinorder atthebeginning andendofshiftandreportinganydeficiency to Registered Nurse onduty.Responsible for the cleanliness and maintenanceof the EMS unitand equipment.

• Worksasateam,strivingtoperformalldutiesinaspiritofpartnership.

• The position of EmergencyVehicle Operator (EVO) isthesole responsibility of the Emergency Medical Technician.When responding toanemergency asEVO, theEMT-Ishall drive inasafeandappropriate manner,consistent withthe training and guidelines established in the EMS Emergency Vehicle Operations course.Complies withcurrentdirective andprotocolsforAngelIINeonatalTransport

• Retainthorough knowledge ofAngel IIregional territory anduseofmapbooks.Inaddition, shallhavethoroughknowledge of hospitals and emergency department'slocations in the regional area.

• Maintains thorough knowledge ofallmedicalcodesandpertinent GEMS radiosignalandprocedures.Ensure the accurate documentationand processing ofallePCR and OHR tripreports.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED required

• IntermediateEMTLicense

• MaintaincurrentAmericanHeartAssociationProviderCardforBLSandNeonatalResuscitationProgram(NRP)

• Must have a current driver's license within 30 days of employment Acceptable motor vehicle record according to departmentalstandard
