Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant plays a key role within Malin's Finance Department by supporting day-to-day accounting activities, month-end close processes, providing hands-on experience with general ledger maintenance, inventory accounting, and operational support. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare routine journal entries and perform account reconciliations
• Support the accounting team in month end close process and reporting
• Assist with daily inventory reconciliation and maintenance in alignment with sales operations.
• Support sales operations through processing Customer Sales Invoices, Vendor Credits and Buy-Outs.
• Assist in gathering support and documentation for internal and external audits
• Contribute to process improvement initiatives and standardization efforts across the Finance Department
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies
• Ad hoc responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

• College degree in Accounting or Business required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, comfort working with large data sets; experience with ERP/accounting systems is a plus
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail

Preferred Skills

• Experience in accounting, public accounting, or finance
• Experience with ERP or accounting software
• Familiarity with inventory reporting, fixed asset management, or sales tax compliance
