Automotive Detailer / Wash Bay

The Automotive Detailer / Wash Bay employee is responsible for thoroughly cleaning, washing, and detailing vehicles to maintain a high-quality appearance. This position prepares vehicles for customers, service, delivery, and display while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized wash bay and detailing area.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Wash and clean the exterior of vehicles using proper washing and drying techniques.
• Vacuum carpets, floor mats, seats, and interior areas.
• Clean dashboards, consoles, windows, door panels, and other interior surfaces.
• Remove dirt, stains, grease, dust, and other debris from vehicles.
• Apply tire dressing, wax, polish, and other approved detailing products as needed.
• Clean wheels, tires, wheel wells, and other exterior surfaces.
• Perform basic interior and exterior detailing according to company standards.
• Prepare vehicles for customer delivery, pickup, sales display, or service completion.
• Inspect completed vehicles to ensure they meet quality and cleanliness standards.
• Report any damage, stains, mechanical concerns, or other issues discovered during the detailing process.
• Maintain and clean pressure washers, vacuums, hoses, buffers, and other detailing equipment.
• Keep the wash bay, drains, floors, and detailing area clean and organized.
• Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Follow all company safety and environmental procedures.
• Assist with moving and parking vehicles as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Previous automotive detailing, car wash, or cleaning experience preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
• Comfortable working around water, cleaning chemicals, dirt, grease, and automotive products.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work in various positions.
• Ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Ability to safely move vehicles around the property.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in a vehicle wash bay and automotive detailing environment. Employees may be exposed to water, cleaning chemicals, vehicle exhaust, noise, dirt, dust, and varying temperatures. Proper personal protective equipment and safety procedures must be followed at all times.

Schedule: Full-time or part-time, depending on business needs.

Pay: Competitive hourly wage based on experience.
