Job Description

The Senior IT Security Analyst uses their knowledge of current security methods and standards to gather operational information and assess and analyst tools, systems, and processes in defense of applications, systems, and networks and collaborate with Infrastructure and business teams. The Senior IT Security Analyst is a lead support role for the IT Security team. They will provide mentorship, administrative service and support for monitoring systems, security breaches, providing investigative analysis and supporting incident response plans, security awareness, risk assessments, document review, vendor risk, vulnerability management and threat hunting. They will also engage in the support of other security focused tools and services and other duties as assigned. In addition, they may be asked to assist with risk assessments, forensics analysis, data collection, user training and other security related tasks.

You will combine fraud expertise, investigative skills, security analytics, and technical knowledge to identify suspicious activity, strengthen detection capabilities, and build strategies that reduce fraud. This role is ideal for someone who has worked within a mature fraud or security environment and is excited about helping build new capabilities within an innovative nonprofit organization.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct complex fraud and security investigations using multiple signals and data sources to identify suspicious activity, patterns, and emerging risks.
• Develop and help drive fraud detection and prevention strategies across the organization.
• Build, tune, and improve fraud and security detections, alerts, correlation rules, and related detection content.
• Identify systemic fraud and security risks, root causes, control gaps, and opportunities for preventative improvements.
• Help stand up and mature fraud intelligence, detection, risk-scoring, and supporting technology capabilities.
• Partner across technical and business teams to share fraud signals, recommend safeguards, prioritize risks, and gain alignment on fraud-prevention initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to others while helping establish scalable fraud investigation and detection practices.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Fraud Management, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
• 5 years of Fraud and Information Security experience.
• Experience with fraud and security industry standards and best practices, specifically with interpretation and implementation of those standards in a corporate environment.
• Relevant fraud security certifications (CISSP, GIAC, ISACA, CCSP, CFE, CFCS, etc.).
• Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements.
• Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.

Bonus Points

• 10 years of Fraud or Information Security experience.
• Experience recommending additional fraud or security requirements and safeguards.
• Experience in an established fraud program, particularly within financial services, banking, or education.
