General Job Responsibilities: * Provide comprehensive healthcare for women across all stages of life. * Conduct gynecological exams, ultrasounds and other diagnostic procedures. * Perform surgical procedures, such as hysterectomies, cesarean sections and minimally invasive surgeries (depending on scope of practice). * Diagnose and treat a wide range of women s health conditions. * Provide counseling on reproductive health, contraception and family planning. * Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as pediatricians and neonatologists, for optimal patient care. * Maintain accurate and complete medical records for all patients. * Stay current on the latest advancements in obstetrics and gynecology through continuing education. Skills: * In-depth knowledge of obstetrics and gynecology, including pregnancy, childbirth and women s health conditions. * Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Technical proficiency in performing gynecological exams, ultrasounds and surgical procedures. * Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for surgical procedures. * Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions, often in high-stress environments. * Time management and organizational skills to manage a patient workload effectively. * Empathy and compassion for patients during sensitive medical situations. Minimum Education Requirements: * Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school. * Residency training program in obstetrics and gynecology accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA). License & Certifications: * Board certification in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or the AOA. * Active and unrestricted medical license in Minnesota. Experience Requirements: * While specific requirements may vary, most locum OB/GYN positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience providing obstetric and gynecological care in a clinical or hospital setting.
