As a Senior Lab Support Tech you will collaborate with various teams within the department and assists in maintenance of laboratory systems. This includes supporting daily lab operations, performing technical and record keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements, and maintaining proper management of stock room and completing shipping, receiving and distribution functions.

What You'll Do:

• Support day-to-day laboratory activities and provide hands-on assistance to scientists and research teams.
• Prepare buffers, solutions, reagents, and other laboratory materials as needed, following approved procedures and safety requirements.
• Perform routine laboratory organization, cleaning, and general 5S activities to maintain a safe, efficient, and inspection-ready work environment.
• Carry out weekly laboratory checks, including equipment, supplies, safety items, and general lab conditions.
• Identify and report equipment issues, supply shortages, and facility concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain accurate records for buffer preparation, equipment calibration, weekly inspections, and other assigned activities.
• Support laboratory inventory management, including monitoring stock levels, labeling materials, and assisting with restocking.
• Ensure laboratory workspaces, equipment, and materials are properly labeled, stored, and maintained.
• Follow all applicable laboratory procedures, safety requirements, quality standards, and site policies.
• Collaborate effectively with scientists, laboratory personnel, and cross-functional support teams to meet laboratory needs.
• Provide additional technical and operational support for laboratory activities and projects as assigned.
  Education & Experience Requirements:
  • High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification Technical positions may require a certificate
  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to at least 2 years) or equivalent combination of education, training, & experience.
  • In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
  Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Ability to adhere to laboratory policies and standard operating procedures
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good knowledge of laboratory and regulatory processes and requirements (i.e. documentation, sample storage, etc.)
  • Satisfactory skills in Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Basic knowledge of technical/scientific terminology, health and safety standards and inventory management
  • Ability to adapt to new work procedures and environments
  • Solid problem solving / troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.
  Working Environment:
  • Work is performed in a clinical environment.
  • Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms.
  Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently stands, twists waists, squats, and bends neck for 4-6 hours per day.
  • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Ability to make precise coordinated movements, of the fingers to grasp and manipulate objects.
  • Frequent mobility required.
  • Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
  • Moderate lifting (or otherwise movement, carrying, setting, and placement)of 15-30 lbs. with a maximum lift of 35 lbs.
  • Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • May interact with others, relating and gathering sensitive information. Interaction includes diverse groups.
  • Works with guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions from management. May require periods of intense concentration.
  • Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence. Ability to perform under stress. Ability to multi-task.

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $24.32–$34.00.
