RN - CVICU

CVIUC RN Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

3x12-Hour Night Shift (19:00 - 07:00), including weekdays and weekends.

The CVIUC RN will be responsible for providing critical nursing care to patients in need of advanced cardiac support. The role requires extensive experience in managing fresh open-heart admissions directly from the OR, as well as delivering specialized care in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

• Direct admission of fresh open-heart surgery patients from the OR.
• Administer medications and manage IV fluids as per protocol.
• Monitor and manage hemodynamics, including arterial and central venous pressure monitoring.
• Utilize advanced devices including Swan-Ganz catheters and Impella for cardiac support.
• Manage Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) as required.
• Provide critical care nursing interventions for patients with complex medical needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a critical care setting.
• Active RN License in West Virginia or compact state.
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIHSS required.
• Experience with arterial line management, ventilator management, and post-operative cardiac care.
