Senior Estimator About the Opportunity A well-established, locally respected general contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to join their team in the Kansas City market. This is a key hire tied to long-term growth and succession planning within the estimating department. The company is specifically looking for a true "numbers" estimator - someone who:
- Thrives in competitive bid environments
- Understands how to win work
- Is confident owning hard-bid and select-bid pursuits
- Wants to play a long-term role in shaping and leading the estimating function
- Looking for a clear path to step into a larger role over time.
- Lead bid pursuits from start to finish
- Prepare detailed, competitive estimates
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Solicit and level subcontractor pricing
- Develop bid strategies and identify risk/opportunity
- Partner with operations and leadership during pursuits
- Play a direct role in winning work
- 8+ years of estimating experience with a general contractor
- Strong background in commercial, warehouse, or industrial construction
- Ability to independently manage estimates
- Strong attention to detail and ownership of numbers
- Competitive mindset with a high level of accountability
