Headquartered in Boston, Veolia has more than 10,000 employees working at more than 350 locations across North America.Under the supervision of the Plant General Manager, the Maintenance Technician will work to preserve the condition and operational readiness of our facility in Kansas City, MO. This will include conducting diagnostic assessments, scheduling and performing repairs and maintenance on all plant equipment. This is a physically active role requiring the ability to maneuver around heavy equipment including bending, climbing, crawling, manual dexterity, and frequently lifting and carrying objects weighing approximately 40 pounds.Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions):Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on conveyors, HVAC, roofing and other related items around the locationConducting diagnostic assessments, scheduling and performing repairs and maintenance on all plant equipment.Perform tasks for the upkeep of buildings and groundsUtilize carpentry, plumbing, electrical and mechanical skills for minor repairsPerform preventive maintenance of pumps and motorsAbility to read manuals to assist in repairsAlways maintain a clean and pristine work areaDevelop preventative maintenance procedures, document completed work orders and perform other assignments to ensure a safe, clean healthy and efficient facility.Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.Work Environment:Required to wear company-provided personal protective equipment including eye protection, foot protection, hard hat, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator.Ability to maneuver around heavy equipment including bending, climbing, crawling, manual dexterity, and occasionally lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 50 pounds.Must be able to pass a DEA background check when relevant.Must be willing and able to abide by Clean Earth's Core Values and Code of Conduct.Qualifications:Basic Requirements: High School diploma or GEDExperience 2+ years in maintenance related fieldMust pass physical, drug test and background checkUnderstanding of safety, lockout/tagout, and compliance protocolsPreferred Requirements: Certification or license in boiler, welding or electrical fieldAssociate Degree from a two-year college or technical school in related fieldKnowledge of hazardous materials handling and OSHA trainingA strong knowledge of electrical, carpentry and plumbingAbility to communicate fluently in EnglishAdditional Information:Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, as well as health, dental, vision, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteering and more.
