Food Service Worker, Diet Aide - Dietary - Full Time 8 Hour Rotating Shift (Non-Exempt) (Non-Union)

Responsibilities Prepare and serve patient food. Assist management in maintaining patient information and refrigerator/freezer temperature logs, and report any inappropriate temperatures to the supervisor/manager. Assist and lead others in keeping the patient prep area clean. Establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, and other hospital personnel while ensuring confidentiality of patient information. Coordinate workflow, set up, and serve patient trays according to established schedules and procedures. Verify that patient Kardex entries are complete and correspond to the active diet list. Lead and assist with the preparation of early and late trays. Refill breakfast carts and serve breakfast to patients on floors. Notify the Registered Dietitian of any patient complaints or concerns. Assist management with the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies. Verify and complete all cleaning assignments. Pull items needed for patient meals. Perform all other duties as related or assigned. Qualifications Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent; if no diploma, some experience in hospitality services, nutrition and dietary services, or customer service within the food industry. Required: Ability to follow oral and written instruction and establish procedures. Required: Demonstrate excellent customer service behavior. Preferred: Active involvement with a professional food service organization. Required: Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) and, if not held upon hire, obtain a card within 30 days and maintain renewal before expiration.
