Senior Project Manager - Contract Position

The Opportunity We are partnering with an award-winning, multidisciplinary architecture firm looking to add an experienced Senior Architect / Interior Designer to help lead and grow its Aviation Studio. This is a senior-level opportunity for someone who enjoys the intersection of design, client relationships, and project leadership. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in aviation concessions, hospitality, retail, or high-end food & beverage environments, along with the ability to guide projects and mentor developing professionals. Beyond managing projects, this individual will have a meaningful voice in the continued growth and direction of the studio. Lead aviation, retail, and food & beverage projects from initial concept through construction and completion. Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and project partners. Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, and overall delivery. Help pursue new business opportunities and strengthen existing client relationships. Coordinate with contractors and consultants throughout design and construction administration. Review drawings, specifications, and deliverables to maintain quality and consistency. Navigate building codes, accessibility requirements, and life-safety standards. Mentor junior architects and designers while helping develop a collaborative, high-performing team. Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design. ~15+ years of professional experience , ideally with a focus on airport terminal concessions, retail, hospitality, or high-design food & beverage spaces. ~ Architectural licensure in Pennsylvania or Ohio preferred, with additional state registrations a plus. ~ Proven experience leading complex projects and managing client relationships. ~ Strong understanding of construction methods, building systems, materials, and applicable codes. ~ Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp. ~ Experience with 3D visualization and rendering. ~ Previous experience mentoring or leading project teams. ~ A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset and an interest in helping grow a specialized practice. ~ Willingness to travel regionally and nationally as projects require.
