About the Position

Job Title: Echo Technologist Profession: Diagnostic Imaging Specialty: Echo Technologist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Monday - Friday Hours per Shift: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; with weekend call required, 1 on 4 off, Saturday and Sunday from 8 am Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required within 1 year of employment Certifications: Registered Cardiac Sonographer (R.D.C.S. or R.C.S.) preferred Must-Have: Proficient in all imaging modalities of Adult Echocardiography including Transthoracic Echo, Stress Echo, and Transesophageal Echo (TEE). Description: We are seeking a full-time Echo Sonographer to assist our Cardiology Team. The Echocardiographer works with the practice team to assist in delivering direct and indirect patient care in the hospital/office setting under the supervision and direction of practice providers. Key responsibilities include preparing patients and diagnostic equipment for imaging procedures and explaining processes to patients, answering any questions they may have. The role involves obtaining high-quality imaging, assisting physicians in interpreting the data from images, and ensuring that records are kept properly. Additionally, the Echocardiographer will provide care through adherence to established protocols and procedures. Demonstrating clinical competence in all modalities within echocardiography is essential for providing accurate diagnostic information used by physicians. Patient and caregiver education is a critical aspect, acting as an advocate for patients in the delivery and coordination of care. It is important to provide age-specific, individualized care that supports protection from harm. A commitment to quality is demonstrated through the maintenance of knowledge and competency in echocardiography as established by credentialing organizations. Providing optimal customer service as part of the care team is essential in person, over the phone, or via supported patient messaging systems. The position requires demonstrated competence in duties related to equipment performance, patient monitoring, and archiving studies. Responsibilities also include organizing exam rooms, setting up for procedures, and assisting with quality monitoring and inventory of equipment and supplies. The ability to organize and multitask in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm and personable is required. Collaboration with other healthcare providers, clinical staff, and support staff regarding practice and patient needs is essential. Other duties may be assigned as needed. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required or must be obtained within the preliminary employment period. Competency in infection control and all practice-specific required skill reviews is also necessary.
