Technician

Overview ONEOK is seeking a Technician in the Tye/Abilene area to troubleshoot, test, maintain, install, and repair equipment within an assigned site. The position is an intermediate or journey-level role, working Monday‑Friday dayshift with some overtime and on‑call duty. Responsibilities Provide technical support for assigned locations that primarily involve the transportation of crude oil, refined products, and other liquids. Maintain a working knowledge of company policies, procedures, System Integrity Plan (SIP), and OQ requirements, and implement them into location work practices. Attend and actively participate in required safety training meetings. Perform routine testing, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all assigned mainline and facility equipment and systems, including pumps, motors, electrical and electronic equipment, instrumentation, PLCs, measurement systems, product testing and analysis, piping systems, valves, pumps and meters, turbines, and related equipment. Complete and maintain required documentation and records associated with performed maintenance and repair. Manage location projects, such as major overhauls, troubleshooting of pumps and seals, new installations, and modifications of existing equipment. Perform other functions as requested by Supervisor. Education High school diploma or equivalent. Experience Experience with manual or power tools, electronic testing devices, and control devices. Experience and training related to computers and related software. Knowledge of governmental rules, regulations, and applicable codes, including safe handling practices for flammable gases, liquids, and high‑pressure systems. Experience with reliability‑based programs and interpreting repair orders, mechanical drawings, procedures, charts, diagrams, and equipment manuals. Experience in preparing, processing, or verifying maintenance and repair records, safety and environmental reports, electrical schematics and diagrams, pressure readings, and material and supply orders. Skills and Abilities Knowledge of reciprocating or gas turbine engines, compressors, and related electronic processing equipment. Knowledge of instrumentation, electronics, tools, and control systems. Ability to apply addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and algebraic formulas. Ability to communicate and exchange written and verbal information and instructions. Licenses and Certifications None required. Physical Demands Heavy work requiring exertion of 50–100 pounds occasionally or 25–50 pounds frequently, with frequent standing, walking, and frequent use of hand and finger dexterity. The duties also require clear vision, hearing, and manual dexterity. Working Conditions Employee will work in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to climatic variations, dust, fumes, gases, vibration, noise, and unprotected heights. The role requires the ability to handle equipment in a variety of temperatures and conditions. Travel Travel within an assigned area and to other locations as required.
