Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction Ensure donor and staff confidentiality Raise donor awareness of potential hazards Provide donor education regarding general health Counsel donors regarding unacceptable test results Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events Evaluate illness and medication histories to ensure continued donor suitability Assist with employee training Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program Requirements Currently certified/licensed in the state of employment as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Licensed Vocational Nurse Current CPR certification required Ability to perform work standing and sitting for up to 2-4 hours per day each Ability to bend and twist the neck for 1-2 hours per day Frequent hand, finger, wrist, and foot movements; ability to make precise coordinated movements Ability to squat, crouch, or sit on heels occasionally Ability to lift 15 pounds routinely, with a maximum lift of 50 pounds Hearing acuity essential Correctable near and far vision, color perception, and discrimination Ability to communicate and understand spoken and written instructions Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions Ability to perform varied tasks under changing conditions Ability to communicate sensitive information to diverse groups Ability to work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical equipment, and temperatures below 32°F Ability to use required personal protective equipment Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in performing physical examinations and establishing medical histories to assess donor suitability, while ensuring donor education and confidentiality.
