Job Title: Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS)

Location: Spring, Texas (5 days onsite each week) Duration: 6–12 Months (Contract)

Technical Must-Haves

• AWS Platform Admin (not just app migration)
• Hands-on experience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, AWS Config, Security Hub, SCPs, RCPs.
• This is more platform governance & security than app development.
• Infrastructure as Code
• Strong Terraform background (writing modules, policies, and managing infra via IaC).
• CI/CD & GitHub
• Comfortable with GitHub Actions and pipelines, especially for AWS infra automation.
• Cloud Governance & Security
• Enforcing guardrails, compliance, and policies across large AWS accounts.

Background & Experience

• 5–8 years in AWS Cloud Engineering (more than junior, less than principal architect).
• Likely worked at an enterprise or consulting firm managing multi-account AWS setups.
• Has admin-level AWS skills, not just "building apps on AWS."
• Knows cost optimization and cloud financial management (FinOps mindset).
• Personality & Work Style
• Detail-oriented & disciplined → governance and compliance roles need precision.
• Collaborative but opinionated → must enforce rules and best practices with dev teams.
• Mentor/consultant mindset → expected to guide juniors and advise application teams.
• Continuous learner → AWS services evolve constantly; must stay current.

Who Not To Target

• Application developers who only deploy apps to AWS.
• Candidates with only Azure/GCP and "some AWS."
• AWS engineers without hands-on Control Tower / Org setup experience.
• General DevOps engineers who never touched AWS governance/security
