Bob Boldt HVAC is hiring a Lead Installer to take on our hardest installation and repair work. This role is for someone who has already put in real time in the field and can run a job from planning through closeout.

Lead installers run complex jobs with little to no supervision. Newer techs learn by watching how you work, so the standard you set on your jobs becomes the standard for the team.

WHAT THE WORK LOOKS LIKE

You’ll handle full split and package unit changeouts, zone system installs, duct replacements, and humidifier installs. You’ll also take on plumbing work, including tankless water heaters, water softeners, and hot water boilers. When something unusual comes up, like a motor swap or a control board replacement, it comes to you.

Before a job starts, you plan and measure it, run heat load and duct sizing calculations, and design a full retrofit when a home needs one. On site, you diagnose refrigerant and electrical problems on the spot and braze and solder with precision. Warranty calls get closed on the first visit. Your work vehicle stays stocked and organized.

You’ll also train installation helpers and specialists, and back up other techs in person and over the phone as they work toward the role you’re in now.

Compensation:

$29 - $39 hourly

Responsibilities:

• Lead complex HVAC installation and repair projects from start to finish, ensuring top-quality outcomes.
• Diagnose and resolve refrigerant and electrical issues on-site, minimizing downtime and enhancing customer satisfaction.
• Plan, measure, and execute jobs with precision, including heat load and duct sizing calculations.
• Design and implement full retrofit solutions for homes, improving energy efficiency and comfort.
• Braise and solder with accuracy, ensuring all connections meet industry standards and safety regulations.
• Manage and organize your work vehicle, keeping it stocked with necessary tools and parts for efficient job completion.
• Train and mentor installation helpers and specialists, fostering their growth and development within the company.

Qualifications:

• Experience in leading complex HVAC installation and repair projects independently.
• Proven track record of diagnosing and resolving refrigerant and electrical issues efficiently.
• Ability to plan, measure, and execute jobs with precision, including heat load and duct sizing calculations.
• Expertise in designing and implementing full retrofit solutions for homes, enhancing energy efficiency.
• Skill in braising and soldering, ensuring all connections meet industry standards and safety regulations.
• Capability to manage and organize a work vehicle, maintaining a stock of necessary tools and parts.
• Experience in training or mentoring installation helpers and specialists, fostering their growth within the company.
• NATE Certified, including the core test and at least four specialties (heat pump, air conditioning, gas furnace, and air distribution recommended)
