Outside Machinist Positions
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and test mechanical systems on ships.
- Support the Refueling Complex Overhaul program.
- Read and interpret drawings related to chill water, ventilation, and steam systems.
- Conduct inspections and testing, including flange/fitting inspections and hydrostatic testing.
- Assess and repair corrosion on shipboard systems.
- Replace or repair flow regulators, solenoids, temperature regulating valves, and isolation valves.
- Mentor, train, and teach coworkers and customers.
- Troubleshoot and repair shipboard ventilation systems, such as cooling coils and preheaters.

This is a contract to hire position based out of Newport News, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
