About The Role As Cleo has grown, so has the scale and complexity of the cash moving through the business. Reporting to the VP of Finance, you will own Cleo’s treasury strategy and operations across liquidity management, cash forecasting, banking infrastructure, funding operations and controls. Today, these responsibilities sit across FP&A, Finance and Capital Markets. You will bring them together into a scalable treasury function built for a rapidly growing consumer lending platform operating across multiple facilities and geographies. This is a leadership role with real operational ownership. You will set the strategy and strengthen the systems, controls and operating rhythms required for scale, while remaining close enough to the detail to understand how cash moves and step in when needed. You will partner closely with Finance, Capital Markets, Engineering, Data Science and Banking partners. Capital Markets will continue to lead facility strategy, structuring and financing relationships; Treasury will own the liquidity planning, cash execution and operational infrastructure that allow those facilities to run effectively. This is an opportunity to shape a critical function at one of the fastest-growing, most AI-native fintechs. What You'll Own Liquidity strategy and forecasting Own Cleo’s group-wide liquidity strategy and build short, medium, and long-term forecasts across entities, currencies and funding sources. Give leadership and all cross-functional teams a clear view of cash, liquidity headroom and funding capacity, with early visibility of emerging constraints. Translate forecasts into recommendations on capital allocation, liquidity buffers and future funding requirements. Treasury & Funding Operations Own daily cash positioning, cash movements, and support finance with payment approvals and reconciliation, across entities and currencies. Run the treasury operations supporting Cleo’s lending facilities, including drawdowns, repayments, settlements and collateral movements. Partner with Capital Markets to ensure facilities operate efficiently and liquidity is deployed effectively. Banking infrastructure & controls Partner with Core Finance and Finance Operations to strengthen cash controls, reconciliations and audit readiness. Establish treasury policies and governance that support scale and public-company readiness. Support Cleo’s banking infrastructure and treasury banking relationships. Systems, data & automation Define the roadmap for treasury systems, data and automation, reducing reliance on manual processes and fragmented spreadsheets. Partner with Engineering and Data Science to improve the data and systems underpinning cash forecasting and treasury operations. Build clear reporting and dashboards across liquidity, funding capacity and facility utilisation. Operating rhythm & team Establish operating rhythms across FP&A, Accounting, Capital Markets, Engineering, and Operations to ensure cash movements and forecasts are coordinated, transparent, and auditable. Scope and hire your first Treasury Operations team member, then grow the function as the business does. FX hedging & FX strategy Own Cleo’s FX strategy - identify, measure and manage currency exposure across a multi-currency, multi-geography business. Run and improve the hedging programme: set the FX risk policy, select the right instruments, and execute hedges to protect margin and cash flows. Partner with Finance and Capital Markets on the FX impact of funding, intercompany flows and cross-border cash movement, and report exposure and hedge effectiveness to leadership. What We're Looking For Must-haves You've built treasury before. You've stood up or materially transformed a treasury function - not just run one that already existed - in fintech, consumer lending, financial services, or another highly regulated environment. Consumer-lending fluency. You understand the cash flow dynamics of a lending book: warehouse facilities, borrowing bases, receivables financing, settlement flows, and bank partnerships — and you're comfortable supporting multiple concurrent facilities alongside a Capital Markets team. Hands-on and strategic. You enjoy building from first principles - the operating model, the controls, the systems - and you'll happily approve a wire and design the policy that governs it. You'll be the de-facto lead on how cash moves across the business. Forecasting and analytical rigour. You've built forecasting models and frameworks that our leaders actually make decisions on. Cross-functional influence. You can bring Finance, Accounting, Capital Markets, Engineering, Product, and Operations along with you, and explain complex treasury concepts to an exec audience. Bias to action, zero ego. This role exists because complexity is outrunning capacity; you'll ship a better setup quickly. Nice-to-haves Experience taking a company through IPO readiness prep, or operating within a public-company treasury organisation. Experience implementing or optimising a Treasury Management System (TMS) and automation tooling. CPA, CFA, or CTP a plus.
