Job Title: General Shop Laborer

Department: Production
Reports To: Production Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

The General Shop Laborer supports daily operations within a cabinet manufacturing facility. This role assists skilled tradespeople and machine operators in the production, assembly, finishing, and preparation of cabinetry products. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with cabinet assembly, sanding, finishing, and packaging
• Load and unload materials, including lumber, plywood, hardware, and completed cabinets
• Operate basic shop tools and equipment (drills, sanders, saws, etc.) under supervision
• Support machine operators and cabinet makers as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow production schedules and supervisor instructions
• Perform material handling and staging of components
• Assist with quality control inspections
• Follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE
• Perform other general labor duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in manufacturing, woodworking, or construction is a plus
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Prolonged standing, bending, and repetitive motions
• Comfortable working in a shop environment with noise and dust
• Ability to safely operate equipment and handle materials

Work Environment

• Indoor manufacturing/shop setting
• Exposure to wood dust, noise, and machinery
• Fast-paced production environment
