Position Summary:

The primary duties of a mechanic include but are not limited to general machine repair and maintenance and all other assigned duties. Must follow and practice all policies and procedures according to the training guidelines. In addition to qualifications listed below, attendance, disciplinary status, communication skills, and general attitude will be considered for any advancement.

Step 1 - Maintenance Mechanic "A"

Required Knowledge:

• All Mechanic "B" step 2 requirements plus
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical blueprints
• Ability to troubleshoot control wiring
• Understanding of PLC operation and parts

Fully Qualified-Maintenance Mechanic "A"

Required Knowledge:

• All Mechanic "A" Step 1 requirements plus the ability to do one or more of the following specialties.
• Operate machine shop equipment and fabricate parts
• Expert on Aseptic Spiral Processor
• Capable of operating the Ammonia plant or Steam plant and maintaining appropriate documentation
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Education:

High School Diploma preferred

2-5 years related and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience

Basic math and computer skills

Experience:

Food manufacturing experience preferred.

Must be willing to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift. Flexibility in days of work week required.

Skills:

Math: Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions

Reading & Writing: Ability to read technical written material and to communicate via written material

Computer Literacy: Knowledge of navigation and inputting.
