Qualifications Ability to perform work involving physical strength and endurance Knowledge (or the ability to gain knowledge) of the methods utilized in general mechanic work Valid Class A commercial driver’s license with appropriate endorsements to operate a school bus within six (6) months of employment (or ability to obtain within six (6) months of meeting FDOT licensing requirements) High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred) *Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate. Performance Responsibilities Assists mechanics in the repair of vehicles. Assists in repairs to engines. Maintains garage area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition. Performs tire maintenance and replacement operations. Assists in school bus- and other district-vehicles (scheduled) inspections. Maintains effective working relationship with other employees. Assists in motor vehicle road calls and recoveries.
