Technical Accounting Manager

A leading publicly traded hospitality organization is seeking a Technical Accounting Manager to support complex accounting matters, financial reporting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC requirements. This role will lead key impairment and fair value analyses, evaluate non-routine transactions, support quarterly and annual filings, and collaborate with finance and accounting leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, sound analytical judgment, and the ability to communicate complex accounting conclusions effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Research complex accounting matters under U.S. GAAP and SEC regulations and prepare or review technical accounting memoranda documenting conclusions.
• Partner with Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, Finance, and other stakeholders to evaluate and report complex transactions and accounting matters.
• Lead or review quarterly and annual impairment assessments and credit loss analyses.
• Oversee and review periodic fair value assessments and related accounting conclusions.
• Prepare and review disclosures for quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
• Review disclosure checklists to ensure compliance with applicable U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Develop materials and supporting analyses for Audit Committee meetings.
• Evaluate new and amended contracts and advise on the appropriate accounting treatment.
• Monitor new and amended accounting standards, assess their applicability, and support implementation as needed.
• Coach, supervise, and mentor senior accounting professionals.
• Support continuous improvement in technical accounting, reporting processes, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
• At least 6 years of accounting and/or public accounting experience.
• Technical accounting experience preferred.
• Experience with SEC reporting and financial statement disclosures preferred.
• Familiarity with financial ERP and reporting systems; Hyperion experience is a plus.
• Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting matters to diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate work in a fast-paced environment.
