About the Role

The Company is seeking an Assistant Vice President for External Relations to provide strategic leadership in advancing the institution's relationships with key external stakeholders. This newly established role is pivotal in strengthening the company's reputation, influence, and visibility at local, state, regional, and national levels. The successful candidate will be responsible for operational leadership, strategic planning, financial and human resource stewardship, and communication and outreach. This includes developing and implementing a comprehensive external relations strategy, serving as a senior advisor and relationship manager, and coordinating external engagement to support the company's mission of excellence in patient care, education, research, and community engagement. Applicants must have a master's degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least 7 years' of experience in government relations, public affairs, corporate relations, community engagement, executive communications, or a related area. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record in building and managing high-level relationships, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in strategic initiative development and a deep understanding of the external landscape, particularly in the areas of health care, higher education, and public policy, are essential. The ideal candidate will also have a background in health care payment policy, reimbursement policy, or related issues, and experience with public health policy, including the intersection of health care delivery, population health, and government policy.
