Structured Products Attorney

the client is seeking a legal point person to provide transactional and advisory support to fixed income sales and trading desks within a hybrid working arrangement. In this role, you will advise on deal-contingent hedging strategies and related swap transactions, and will support legal review and analysis of transaction documentation used across financing, acquisitions, and structured products activities. You will review and analyze MandA documentation, including asset purchase agreements, NDAs, and commitment letters, and evaluate credit agreements and transaction documents for project finance deals. The position also includes counseling on securities law matters and supporting ongoing structured note programs, as well as helping manage global outside counsel to assess execution risk and closing probability for acquisition and financing transactions tied to derivatives. Responsibilities will include partnering with business, risk, and external stakeholders to identify and resolve legal issues in structured cash and derivatives transactions, and responding to cross-functional inquiries spanning trading, sales, risk, operations, finance, and onboarding on legal, credit, and documentation matters. The role is expected to be suited for an attorney with admission to the NY State Bar (US law school background), strong written and verbal communication skills, and experience advising on structured products transactions, derivatives, and related regulatory matters, typically with 3–5+ years of practicing experience; team-oriented initiative and collaboration are essential.
