Vehicle Technician

Vehicle Technician (BaseOps)We are looking for an engineering-focused vehicle technician to support the readiness of our fleet vehicles. The vehicle technician will perform maintenance, repairs, and contribute towards the operations of our lab. This includes scheduled service, diagnostics, repair coordination, lab space fit/function, and general upkeep.Responsibilities:Configure, set up, maintain, diagnose, and sign off on vehicles for safe on-road usage.May need to travel locally to perform this work from time to timeSync with Shop Foreman to ensure all vehicles are in a "ready" state for demonstration and testing requirementsPerform diagnostics and escalate to the appropriate engineering team if requiredCoordinate and drive the repair processCreate diagnostic test plans as the team sees fitMaintain service records and document quality field reportsMaintain shop facilities, ensure tools are in order, and workspace is in excellent working conditionAssist with parts inventory, location, and organizationBuild an excellent service experience for internal teams and business partnersQualifications:Extensive knowledge of methods, techniques, parts, tools, and materials used in the maintenance and repair of vehiclesMinimum of 2 - 4 years of technician experienceMust have a valid driver's license with a clean/excellent driving record.Reliable, self-starter, roll-up-the-sleeves work ethosAbility to multi-task and manage multiple projects and deliverablesTeam playerExcellent written and verbal skillsMust be honest, responsible and an outstanding communicatorPass a background check, MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check, and drug screen.Must comply with the Substance Abuse Policy.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and sit/stand for extended periods (8+ hours) depending on the equipment type.Forklift and/or gantry operation is required. *** will provide all forklift operator training and certifications compliant with Cal/OSHA standards.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in an automotive-focused engineering or research lab (i.e. Dyno, Battery, etc.)Knowledge of CAN, wiring diagrams and soldering preferredTechnical trade school certificate or Associate Degree in automotive repairAbility to travel locally and nationally (on occasion)This role will require safety boots that conform to ASTM F2412 / F2413 requirements.
