Overview Texas Oncology is looking for an Oncology Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in The Woodlands, Texas. The position is Monday‑Friday, no weekends or holidays, and no on‑call responsibilities. The role may be Level I, II, or Senior based on candidate experience. Why work for us? Awards are discretionary, reviewed annually, and subject to continued employment. What does the Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) do? Under minimal supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients following national and company standards. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team for assessment and therapeutic management, supports patients and families, and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program. Responsibilities Oncology Clinic RN: Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care. Assess health status by interviewing patients, reviewing medical history, and identifying needs. Provide teaching, instructional materials, and psychosocial support to patients and families. Facilitate clinical operations and patient care: Manage medication refill requests from the pharmacy line and record data in the patient chart. Schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests, procedures, referrals, and future appointments. Triage patient phone calls and document relevant information in the chart. Coordinate communication between patients/families and the interdisciplinary team, and arrange related services. Assist patients in locating community resources. Interprofessional collaboration: Serve as a resource for LPN/LVNs and medical assistants. Qualifications Education/Training: Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education (BSN preferred). Hold a current RN state license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Maintain continuing education requirements. Level I: 0‑3 years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred. Level II: At least three (3) years of nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred. Level Senior: Minimum five (5) years of nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred; oncology certification preferred. Working Conditions The work environment is typical of an oncology/hematology clinic. Reasonable accommodations may be made.
