Geologist

Role Description Arcadis is currently searching for an Entry‑Level Geologist to join our Resilience Environment team in Sacramento, CA. This position is slated to start in Summer 2026. Candidates graduating in May 2026 are encouraged to apply. Role Accountabilities As part of this role, you will assist Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks. Fieldwork will be a key aspect of the position and you will be trained to oversee drilling for soil sampling, groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, subcontractor oversight, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys, and other related tasks. Prepare subcontracts and oversee subcontractors. Write and prepare technical reports, work plans, letters, and memoranda. Coordinate tasks, compile and interpret data, estimate costs, prepare health & safety plans, write regulatory file reviews, proposals, project strategies, schedules, and budgets. Conduct field work including soil, groundwater, and/or vapor sampling; requires regional travel up to 1–2 days per week and occasional U.S. travel up to two weeks. Travel Requirements Travel is expected to be up to 75% during the first two years, reducing to about 50% by the third year. Travel expenses are reimbursable. Qualifications & Experience Required Qualifications Bachelor’s of Science in Geology, Engineering, or a closely related field. Preferred Qualifications Master of Science degree in Geology, Engineering or a related field. Current OSHA 40‑hour HAZWOPER training.
