Respiratory Therapist

This is a 13-week contract position.

Night shift, 3x12.0 hours. Every other weekend commitment.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, administering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and educating patients on treatment procedures and equipment use. The therapist conducts routine treatments while operating various ventilatory equipment, oxygen, and aerosol devices to ensure proper medication delivery, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation.

Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning by various methods.

Conduct monitoring using oximetry and capnography.

Review patient's chest x-rays for further evaluation.

Perform 12-Lead EKG and recognize basic arrhythmias.

Assist with procedures such as Bronchoscopy, Perc Trachs, and Chest Tube placement.

Conduct tracheostomy care and insertion/removal of tracheostomy tubes.

Perform arterial puncture and monitor ventilation efficiency.

Ensure accurate respiratory therapy charging and documentation.

Communicate with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy effectiveness.

Candidates must possess a valid Respiratory Therapy license and relevant certifications, including BLS and ACLS.
