Accounts Receivable Specialist

Job Summary:

Our rapidly growing retail business is looking for a detail-oriented, customer-focused Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our friendly team. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys solving account puzzles, keeping cash application accurate, researching account activity, supporting collections efforts, and helping customers find clear answers to billing questions. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and enjoys the satisfaction of keeping accounts accurate, customers supported, and receivables moving in the right direction.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Review residential and business accounts to help resolve outstanding balances and better understand account activity
• Assist with friendly and professional collections follow-up, helping customers understand balances, payment options, and next steps
• Apply daily check payments accurately and help ensure every payment is posted to the right place
• Research and process ACH payments, chargebacks, and EFTs, alternating weekly with another AR Specialist
• Monitor the Payment Arrangement Queue and follow up on customer commitments as needed
• Work the Pending Internal Queue to help resolve account questions, clear up issues, and keep accounts moving forward
• Provide friendly, courteous, and professional support to customers by phone regarding billing and account questions

Qualifications and Skills:

• Associate degree in a business-related field preferred, but not required
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with a natural curiosity for spotting what may need a closer look
• Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office products, and Google Documents
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize follow-ups, and stay organized
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to assist upset customers with patience, professionalism, and a helpful attitude
• Willingness to work occasional hours outside the normal 8-5 schedule when needed
