Personal Banker – Responsibilities Ask personalized questions to convert transactions, account maintenance and other routine service requests into cross‑sell conversations that deepen client relationships while meeting customer needs. Create sales opportunities by calling leads, visiting businesses to offer workplace banking, and developing referral networks. Achieve daily key performance metrics while balancing competing priorities. Learn processes such as transactions, managing a cash drawer and completing bank documentation consistently in accordance with industry and legal standards. Perform other job duties as assigned. Personal Banker – Qualifications High‑energy, sales‑driven team member who thrives on daily coaching and feedback. Expert product knowledge and conversation skills to build upon customers' needs. Compelling communication style, positive image projection, problem‑solving and positive outcome creation. Attention to detail in completing documents or explaining features and benefits. HS Diploma or equivalent. One year of experience in a retail environment engaging with customers and making product recommendations that lead to sales or relevant experience. Reliable transportation and ability to work branch hours, including weekends and some evenings. Ability to obtain NMLS registration within 90 days. Compensation US Employees in California, Washington DC, New Jersey, and New York: $35,750 – $52,040.US Employees in Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Washington, and Wisconsin: $32,640 – $47,640.US Employees in all other states: $29,530 – $43,240.The posted compensation range reflects UMB’s estimate for starting pay; actual compensation may vary by location, experience level, and other factors.
