Development and Community Relations Coordinator The Turning Point Center of Addison County (TPCAC) is a recovery community center dedicated to supporting individuals and families impacted by substance use. We provide a safe, welcoming, and stigma‑free environment where people can access peer support, recovery resources, and community programs that promote wellness and long‑term recovery. TPCAC is grounded in the values of peer support, recovery advocacy, equity, and community collaboration. Position Summary The Development and Community Relations Coordinator advances TPCAC’s mission by leading fundraising, communications, and community engagement efforts while also contributing directly to participant support and program delivery. This position blends external‑facing development work with hands‑on involvement in the Center’s daily operations and recovery programming. Primary Responsibilities Development & Fundraising Assist in developing and implementing an annual fundraising and development plan including annual fund, major gifts, business sponsorships, events, and planned giving. Identify, research, write, and manage grant applications and reporting. Cultivate, steward, and expand relationships with individual donors, foundations, businesses, and public funding sources. Maintain accurate donor records and help manage donor database (Little Green Light). Support donor communications, acknowledgments, and impact reporting. Serve as lead staff in planning and executing fundraising events and special community campaigns. Community Relations & Communications Build and maintain partnerships with local organizations, service providers, businesses, and community stakeholders. Represent TPCAC at community meetings, coalitions, and public events. Support outreach and advocacy efforts to increase visibility and awareness of recovery resources. Monitor recovery‑related initiatives and relevant public policy developments. Coordinate external communications, including newsletters, press releases, update website content, annual reports, and social media content. Develop messaging that reduces stigma and promotes recovery success stories. Collaborate with staff and volunteers to connect participants with appropriate recovery resources. Lead TPCAC’s volunteer program, including coordination, scheduling, and program support. Administrative & Organizational Support Assist with tracking budgets related to grants, fundraising, and programming. Help ensure grant compliance and timely reporting, including adherence to Recovery Services Organization standards and best practices. Direct Service & Program Team Support (as needed) Turning Point Center of Addison County is a small, close‑knitted recovery community center that operates with an “all hands‑on deck” approach. Staff work within a cross‑functional team model and are expected to be familiar with all Center programs, services, and daily activities. In this role, the Development and Community Relations Coordinator will actively engage in the daily life of the Center and contribute beyond primary development responsibilities as needed. Provide welcoming front‑line engagement for participants, families, and visitors. Provide support for and occasionally participate in peer‑led meetings, workshops, and other community activities. Support direct service staff as needed to provide back‑up peer‑based recovery coaching support to participants. Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and stigma‑free environment aligned with recovery values. Contribute to a positive, collaborative organizational culture rooted in recovery principles. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, communications, program coordination, or human services. Demonstrated experience writing and securing grants preferred. Strong written, verbal, and organizational skills. Experience with donor databases or CRM systems. Lived experience with substance use disorder and recovery or strong connection to the recovery community is strongly preferred and valued. Knowledge of recovery support services and peer‑based approaches preferred. Commitment to the values of recovery, equity, inclusion, and community collaboration. Willingness to become a certified recovery coach and attend required trainings and achieve Recovery Coach Certification within 180 days of hire. Ability to balance development responsibilities with participant‑centered direct service work. Openness to Harm Reduction principles and approaches; respect for those who use substances; appreciation for the many ways people enter and sustain recovery from substance use disorders. If in recovery, two years of recovery from a substance use disorder is requested. Compensation & Benefits Salary range of $27 - $31/hour , commensurate with experience.
