Job Description
The Service Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding our aftermarket service solutions portfolio in the renewable industry. Reporting directly to the VP of Service Operations and Engineering, this position focuses on developing and managing long-term service agreements (LTSAs), negotiating customized solutions, driving sales of additional services, spare parts, and repairs, and fostering strategic partnerships to enhance customer retention and revenue growth. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a proven track record in business development within the renewable energy sector, capable of identifying market opportunities and delivering tailored service solutions that align with customers' needs.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Capability of leading the development and execution of service business strategies to grow aftermarket revenue streams, including LTSAs, customized maintenance solutions, and value-added services for wind, solar, and battery storage assets.
- Lead the negotiation, structuring, and management of LTSAs, ensuring terms are competitive, compliant, and aligned with customer requirements and company objectives.
- Drive sales of spare parts, repairs, upgrades, and additional services; identify upsell opportunities and develop customized proposals to meet customer-specific needs, such as performance optimization, predictive maintenance, and asset lifecycle extensions.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and customer pain points in the renewable energy service sector; leverage insights to innovate service offerings and penetrate new markets.
- Conduct market analysis to benchmark competitors, define pricing strategies, and forecast service revenue. Develop business portfolios for new service products.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, stakeholders, and partners; serve as a trusted advisor in service consultations, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Work closely with engineering, operations, supply chain, and sales teams to integrate service solutions with product development and manufacturing processes; collaborate on pricing strategies, risk assessments, and service delivery models.
- Act as the customer advocate within the company to align internal resources with customers' needs.
- Contribute to KPIs related to service solution sales' business performance, track progress against targets, and work closely with VP of the department to provide reports to senior leadership on revenue forecasts, pipeline development, and growth initiatives on a regular basis.
- Ensure all service agreements and sales activities adhere to industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines specific to renewable energy sectors.
- Foster a strong safety culture among employees, contractors, and subcontractors, promoting high standards in quality, health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Adhere to Goldwind America's QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) policies, including incident reporting, investigations, and safety planning.
- Support ongoing ISO certification efforts and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned or as business needs emerge.
Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field; engineering background is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years in business development or/and sales of services within the renewable energy industry, with at least 1 year in a leadership role. Direct sales experience in aftermarket services for wind turbines, solar, or battery storage is strongly preferred.
- Proven negotiation and contract management expertise, with a track record of closing high-value deals.
Desired Qualifications/Core Competencies/Skills:
- Excellent sales acumen, including pipeline management, CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce), and revenue forecasting.
- Ability to rapidly leverage technical knowledge of renewable energy technologies, including wind turbine operations, solar PV systems, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), as well as associated service requirements such as O&M, diagnostics, and repairs.
- Strategic analytical skills for market assessment and opportunity evaluation.
- Outstanding communication and presentation abilities, with experience in client-facing roles.
- Familiar with financial modeling, pricing strategies, and risk analysis.
- Results-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Commitment to sustainability and ethical business practices.
- Commitment to safety, compliance, and professional development in a dynamic engineering environment.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of working time.
- Bilingual in Mandarin Chinese is a plus.
