Job Title Operations Specialist Reports To Immediate Supervisor Job Details Position Type: TECHNOLOGY Date Posted: 7/21/2025 Location: TBD Closing Date: 05/14/2026 Summary The job of Technology Operations Specialist is to receive, organize, and maintain technology assets within the District; answer Help Desk calls as needed; create accounts and make changes in the active directory; conduct inventories; schedule use and maintenance of equipment; and set passwords and security levels. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist district staff as needed (e.g., Help Desk, email accounts, etc.) to ensure efficient use of technology and associated applications. Conduct inventory (e.g., general and special funds, etc.) to ensure equipment in the Technology Department is accounted for and records comply with District policies. Create purchase orders for the Technology Department to ensure the department has necessary materials and equipment while staying within budget guidelines. Facilitate meetings (e.g., staff meetings, in‑services, workshops, etc.) to convey and gather information required for job functions. Maintain a variety of systems (e.g., equipment log, SMART equipment, etc.) to ensure system availability. Monitor a variety of systems (e.g., scheduled updates, email groups, etc.) to ensure availability for use by District personnel. Perform a variety of actions with technology (e.g., scheduled maintenance, labels for drives needing ghosting, etc.) to meet the technology needs of users. Prepare a variety of information (e.g., work orders, schedules, inventory reports, etc.) for documentation, writing reference, and communication. Research a variety of work‑related topics (e.g., general trends in the field, software upgrades, best prices, etc.) to stay current in technology. Respond to requests from stakeholders (e.g., Help Desk personnel, administrators, etc.) to provide information, address changes, and refer to alternate resources. Troubleshoot systems as needed (e.g., SMART systems, etc.) to provide immediate assistance for problem resolution. Other Duties Other duties as assigned related to the functions of the position. Essential Functions / Qualifications / Requirements Extensive knowledge of computer/technical operations, comfort using technology, and confidentiality required for handling sensitive documents and information. Education and Experience Associate’s degree required or certification from a technical program or college. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two (2) years experience operating computer equipment required and one year of experience at an increased level of responsibility.
