Automotive Technician (General Service, C, B & A Levels)

The Automotive Service Technician (ACG Car Care Technician) performs routine scheduled maintenance and basic repairs on automobiles and trucks, helping to keep the shop organized and delivering excellent customer service. Day‑in‑the‑Life Complete oil changes, tire replacement & repairs, and general vehicle maintenance under supervision. Perform digital vehicle inspections and test‑drive vehicles for final delivery. Keep the shop clean and organized to ensure a positive member/customer experience. Learn from more experienced technicians to advance your career. Technology Level Progression General Service Tech – Perform basic maintenance and repairs. Technician C – All General Service duties plus fluid exchanges, alignments, brake services, and additional maintenance tasks. Technician B – All Technician C tasks plus mentoring and training of less experienced technicians and advanced repair services. Technician A – All Technician B duties plus diagnostic and electrical repairs, drivability diagnostics, and advanced automotive troubleshooting. Compensation & Benefits Pay ranges based on experience. Example levels: General Service Tech $15–$17 hourly, C Technician $17–$25 hourly, B Technician $40,000–$70,000+ hourly base with bonus, A Technician $65,000–$110,000+ hourly base with bonus. Closed Sundays, shorter workdays (6pm close); Monday–Friday 7:30am–6pm, Saturday 8am–4pm. Work‑life balance emphasis. Qualifications High School diploma, GED, or technical school certification. Valid driver’s license. Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of automotive systems and tools. Independent performance of basic repairs/maintenance. Commitment to safety, cleanliness, and organization. Exceptional customer service skills. All General Service Tech candidates must have a high school diploma/GED and mechanical aptitude. Preferred Qualifications by Level General Service Tech: G1‑Auto Maintenance & Light Repair preferred; state inspection certificate; AC 609 certification. Technician C: Minimum 6 months of relevant experience or formal training in automotive repair. Preferred C Tech: All General Service Tech preferred qualifications plus ASE certifications (A4‑Suspension & Steering, A5‑Brakes) or equivalent, and AC 609 certification. Technician B: All C Tech requirements plus 3+ years of dealership/center repair experience. Preferred B Tech: All C Tech preferred qualifications plus two additional ASE certifications or equivalent, and AC 609 certification. Technician A: All B Tech requirements plus 5+ years of dealership/center repair experience. Preferred A Tech: All B Tech preferred qualifications plus ASE Certifications (A1–A8) with Master Technician designation or equivalent, including Advanced Engine Performance Specialist L1, and AC 609 certification. Work Environment May encounter loud noises, odors, and temperature variations; work largely in a concrete facility. Physical demands: standing, walking, lifting up to 80 pounds. Must have own tools appropriate for skill level. Must work in heat; fans available at all locations.
