Role: Lead Java Developer

Location : Hybrid, 2-3 days a week onsite in Reston, VA or DC.

Duration : 6-month contract with strong potential to extend to next year

Summary: CareFirst is looking for a Lead Java Developer to help support the application development team's interaction with the Data Science and Machine Learning teams. This resource will be responsible for helping the application team generate Agentic AI models.

• 10 + years of IT experience
• 2 years of lead experience
• 5+ years of Java experience
• 3+ years' experience in Java development on the Spring framework
• 3+ years of experience building production-level AI or ML systems, including LLMs, agents, or complex automation frameworks.
• 3+ years of experience with Python and Python tools, including Pandas or NumPy
• Agentic AI experience
