Community Support Specialist

We are looking for a Community Support Specialist to provide community-based support to individuals recovering from mental health and substance use disorders. The position is located in Quincy, IL, is full-time (Monday‑Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) and offers an hourly rate of $20.00 – $23.00, with the possibility of a $2,000 sign‑on bonus for eligible external candidates. Responsibilities Provide individualized, community‑based behavioral health support services. Assist clients in developing life skills, coping strategies, and independent living skills. Coordinate care with healthcare providers, schools, community agencies, and support systems. Support clients using a strengths‑based, person‑centered approach and evidence‑based practices such as Motivational Interviewing, Trauma‑Informed Care, CBT and DBT. Facilitate Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) groups and skill‑building activities. Advocate for client needs and connect individuals with community resources. Maintain timely and accurate documentation of services provided. Participate in ongoing professional development and team collaboration. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services, Counseling, Education, Sociology, Criminal Justice or related field preferred. Alternatively, high school diploma/GED with at least 5 years supervised clinical experience in mental health or human services. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to problem‑solve, think critically, and be self‑motivated and organized. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Ability to navigate and coordinate community‑based resources. Proficiency in written communication and accurate documentation within prescribed timeframes. Benefits 29 days paid time off for full‑time employees.
