Middle School Boys Basketball Assistant Coach Elbert County School District C-2 Kiowa High School - Kiowa, Colorado Open in Google Maps Job Details Job ID: 5926420 Application Deadline: Posted until filled Posted: Sep 14, 2026 6:00 AM (UTC) Starting Date: Immediately Job Description Title : Middle School Assistant Basketball Coach FLSA Status: non-exempt Reports to : Head Coach & Athletic Director Pay Range: Refer to salary schedule Prepared/Revised Date: May 18, 2026 Work Year: Pre-season, In-season, off-season POSITION OVERVIEW: The assistant coach is responsible for supporting the head coach in leading and managing all aspects of the athletic team, including developing practice plans, strategizing for games, mentoring student-athletes, developing sport skills, sportsmanship and promoting a positive team culture. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Understand and comply will all applicable district, state and federal guidelines, policies and laws. Assist in developing team and individual player goals and maintains high expectations for both, including but not limited to: school attendance, passing grades, attend practice and contests, exhibit good sporting behavior and citizenship. The program is an extension of the classroom. Follow and enforce all regulations, policies, philosophies, and administrative directives as set by the Elbert County School District C-2. Assists in planning in advance and prepares for each contest in an effort to put the team in the best possible position to be successful. Attend all practices and games, unless ill or with advanced notification and approval from the AD. Adhere to district guidelines for building use gym and field access, as well as access and care of all district facilities. Help manage district athletic facilities including cleanliness of locker rooms, gym(s) after each practice and contests, and maintenance to ensure the well-being of student-athletes, students, families and staff. Equipment – Assists in Monitoring safety of all equipment on a daily basis. Equipment - Assists in caring for, inventorying, and preparing all equipment, supplies, and uniforms for storage at the end of the season. Assists in Collecting all equipment, supplies, and uniforms checked out to team members. Assists in completing an itemized list and numbered inventory of equipment that needs replaced and what will carry over to next season. Continue to grow as a coach; attends and participates in coaching clinics, takes coaching related courses, etc. Seeks to attain and maintain good public relations with student-athletes, students, parents, staff and fellow coaches. Assists in fundraising to support the efforts of the team and athletic department. Uses SportsYou, designated by Elbert County School District C-2, to regularly communicate with student-athletes and families. Check Elbert County School District C-2 issued email on a regular basis and respond in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE: ? Previous coaching experience in the specific sport or related field TECHNICAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: ? Excellent communication skills

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, OR CERTIFICATIONS: ? Must have a valid driver’s license

• Complete and pass Elbert County School District C-2 driving test for district vehicles
• Must pass various pre-employment background screenings; required at entry
• Must have current CPR and First Aid certification or obtain within 90 days or before the first official practice.
